Plastic Hole Sleeves

There have been questions raised about the legality or otherwise of the plastic sleeves that some clubs are using to prevent the edges of holes from falling in.

The use of these attachments is such that it alters the characteristics of the hole to the extent that it no longer conforms with the definition of a hole as provided in the Rules of Golf on page 27. For this reason, when they are in place Qualifying Competitions, Supplementary Scores. and cards for Handicap are not acceptable.
