The Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Union runs an annual foursomes competition in the memory of a Past President of the English Golf Union and Rothley Park member, John Cheatle.
The 2018 John Cheatle Foursomes will take place on Sunday 19th August. This year the L&RGU President, Kevin Whitfield-Green, invites all members of the union to take part in this foursomes medal competition.
The 2017 John Cheatle Foursomes took place on Sunday 20th August and was won by Ollie McGowan and Jordan Baker from Beedles Lake Golf Club. Ollie and Jordan shot a gross 71, nett 68.5 to take first place. The runners-up, on local rule, were Jim Noone and Mick Walker from host club Rothley Park on nett 70 with Will & Rob Slater in third place.
The best gross score went to County Captain Martin Anderson (Market Harborough) and Luke Burrows (Cosby) with a 68. The runners up were Matt Bolton (Stapleford Park) and Paul Dixon (Willesley Park) with a 73. Mark Simons and Lee Towers (the Leicestershire) were third on 75.
