L&RGU Boys claim the Anglian League title

The Boys Anglian League participants are Leicestershire & Rutland, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire. There are two regional semi finals, played as three way matches, with a final for the East and West Area winners.

The L&RGU take part in the West Area semi final, which in 2014 was played at Cold Ashby Golf Club in Northamptonshire on Wednesday 16th July.

The L&RGU successfully defended their Anglian League West Final title scoring 15 points and beating Lincolnshire (11.5) and Northamptonshire 9.5.

As a result of winning the West playoff, the Boys went through to the Anglian League Final against Suffolk, at Oundle Golf Club, on Monday 18th August. This was a re-run of the 2013 final.

After winning the morning foursomes 3-1, the L&RGU Boys needed to claim a further 3.5 points out of 8 in the singles to claim the title. They did so comfortably, winning the afternoon singles 4.5-3.5 for an overall victory 7.5-4.5.

Congratulations to the Boys Captain, Jevann Parmar, and the management team of Kevin Whitfield-Green and David Gibson on regaining the Anglian League title.
