The L&RGU Scratch League is an annual competition, with almost every club in the Union taking part. Matches are 8-a-side with games being played on a Thursday evening.

The league season has come to a close and as usual the issues of promotion and relegation being decided on the last set of matches.  Congratulations to Cosby for being the champions yet again.  Congratulations to Lutterworth, Park Hill, Scraptoft and Stapleford for winning their respective divisions and gaining promotion.  Prizes for these successes to be presented at the annual dinner, clubs may wish to ensure that the squads are represented.  Commiserations to the clubs who just missed out on game difference and to those who have been relegated.

Unfortunately Rutland County were unable to fulfil all of their fixtures and have decided to withdraw from the league for the 2018 season.  On behalf of the Union I would like to thank them for their participation and reiterate that they would be welcome back anytime in the future.  As it stands at the moment this means that there will be 5 divisions all containing 5 clubs for 2018.

Under the rules of the league when a club is unable to fulfil their fixtures all the matches involving that club are declared void, the only equitable way of proceeding for the other teams in the division.  Sadly Kirby Muxloe were also in this position.  The division 2 & 5 tables reflect the adjustments effectively showing the reduced number of matches, even when many of them were played.

Thanks for participating and good luck preparing for 2018.
