The Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Union runs an annual foursomes tournament, the inaugaral event was in 1976 the trophies were donated by Past President of the English Golf Union (1983) and Rothley Park GC member John C A Cheatle.
Cosby pair win John Cheatle Foursomes
Will Plant and Liam Orme (Cosby) won the John Cheatle Foursomes with a nett 67, 4 shots clear of the runners up David Clayton and Richard Lawton (Kibworth) The Gross prize was won by L&RGU County juniors Charlie Box and Frazer Jones (Kirby Muxloe) with a level par 71, both players will be off to university in the USA later this month.
