The 35th L&RSGA Championships in 2024 will be held at Kibworth Golf Club on Sunday 14th April 2024.

The Leicestershire and Rutland Golf Union runs the qualifying event for the Leicestershire and Rutland Schools Golf Association under the guidance of the English Schools Golf Association. This event is open to Boys and Girls meeting the criteria as detailed below.

Event and Entry details:

The Championships are open to boys and girls in full time education at a Leicestershire and Rutland School or College who have a WHS handicap index of 36.0 or lower for Boys (White Tees) and Girls (Red Tees). The competition will be run as a single 18 hole Stableford WHS handicap qualifing event. No Caddies will be allowed. Qualifying Age Entry Limit: players must be under the age of 19 on the 31st August 2023.

Schools and Colleges in the Leicestershire and Rutland area may enter as many students as they wish, either in teams of 3* or as individuals. If entered as a Team each player will also automatically be included in the individual event as well.  *Note : each school can only enter 2 Teams however additional players at that School can still be entered as individuals.   

Entry Fees: £10 per individual player or £30 per Team. Following submission of your entry form you will see an on screen message confirming submission of the form followered by an email a couple of days later confirming the entry and providing you with entry fee payment details. 

The close date for entries is the 22nd March 2024 however places may be limited and a ballot may need to be applied and if that is the case a full refund of entry fees paid will be made.

Best Gross Score (Boy or Girl) - Leicestershire & Rutand Schools Champion

Best Nett Score (Boy & Girl)

Best Nett Team Score (3 players any combination Boys, Girls or Mixed - best 2 scores from 3 count)

Qualification for next stage Schools events:

Based on gross performances and handicap limits a number of boys and girls may be selected to represent Leicestershire & Rutland Schools in the Midlands Schools Championships (a Scratch Competition) to be held at Trentham Park GC on Monday 27th May 2024. At this event the opportunity will exist for a number of players to qualify for the National Schools Championship and ultimately be awarded a Home International Cap. 

In addition, the winning Schools Team (Nett) will go forward to represent Leicestershire & Rutland Schools in the English Schools Team Championships on the 10th July 2024 at Woodall Spa. The qualifying Team must be accompanied at this event by an adult representative from the School. If the winning team is unable to attend the runners up will be invited.
