Alastair Kinnaird (Kirby Muxloe) wins the L&RGU Open Championship

The Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Union runs a Championship open to both Amateurs and Professionals.

The 2017 L&RGU Open Championship took place on Sunday 27th August at Birstall Golf Club, with the generous support of Shepshed Ford and the L&RPGA.

The winner of the 2017 L&RGU Open Championship was Alastair Kinnard, a professional from Kirby Muxloe Golf Club. Alastair shot rounds of 62 and 66 for a fantastic two round total of 128, 12 under par. The leading amateur was Jack Mayfield from Birstall Golf Club. Jack opened with a round of 69 and followed it up with a 62 in the afternoon for a 9 under par total of 131.
