Team Fairbrother wins the 'Choppers Cup'
The match between the County Captain and the Second Team Captain for the 'Choppers Cup' was held at Lutterworth Golf Club on Sunday 19th March.
County Captain Martin Anderson led a team against Second Team Captain John Fairbrother. The teams, foursomes pairings & matches and singles draw were all decided by random draw.
Team Anderson won the morning foursomes 4-2, but Team Fairbrother came back to win the afternoon singles 8.5-3.5 for a 10.5-7.5 victory overall. The match was played in excellent spirit in tough, windy, conditions. The players were grateful for the support of the County President, Kevin Whitfield-Green, President Elect David Bentley and his wife Janet throughout the day. The President and President Elect were invited to play a match at the beginning of the afternoon singles, the President managed a 5/4 win.
