L&RGU First Team lose to Staffordshire; team announced to play Nottinghamshire

The L&RGU First Team took on Staffordshire away at Penn Golf Club on Sunday 8th April.

The morning foursomes were halved 2.5-2.5 before Staffordshire won the singles 6-4 to take the game 8.5-6.5 overall. For the L&RGU Jack Merry (Birstall) won maximum points whilst Luke Burrows (Cosby) and David Cooper (Glen Gorse) were unbeaten.

The Second Team game was cancelled due to the venue, Melton Mowbray, only having 9 holes open as a result of the recent wet weather.

The First Team next play on Sunday 15th April at Rothley Park against Nottinghamshire. The team selected to represent the L&RGU is:
