INTER CLUB FOURSOMES         -      PRO-AM RULES

1 The Tournament shall be by foursomes match play off Handicap.
2 The Tournament shall be open to Clubs affiliated to the L.& R.G.U.
3 A team shall consist of two players, an Amateur and a Professional or Assistant Professional. The Amateur shall be a member of the L.& R.G.U. and be a playing member of the Club from which he is entered. The Professional or Assistant Professional shall be a member of the L.& R.P.G.A. and be attached to the same Club. 
4 A player may only represent one Club throughout the period of the Tournament. 
5 Throughout the Tournament, but not during the course of a match, a substitution may be made for the Amateur. Should a Club enter more than one team a member of a losing team may not be substituted in another team.
6 The matches shall be played off white tees.
7 The handicap allowance shall be :-˝ of the difference between the combined handicaps of either side.
8 The handicap limits shall be :-Amateurs  -  16 or playing handicap whichever may be the lowest on the day. Professional or Assistant Professionals  -  Their P.G.A. handicap on the day.
9 Each match will be decided over 18 holes, except the Final which will be over 36 holes. 
10 Each match shall be played on the course of the Club first drawn, except the Semi-Finals and Final which shall be played on a neutral course as directed by the Tournament Committee.
11 In the event of a tie the match shall be resolved by “Sudden Death” on the day, strokes being taken as before.
12 Each round of the Tournament shall be played by the date directed by the Tournament Committee. In the event of a match not being so played both teams will be disqualified if equally responsible.
13 In the event of a match failing to be on the tee and ready to commence play, up to and including the Semi-Finals by the mutually agreed time, and by the time directed for the Final, RULES OF GOLF  6.3 will apply.
14 After the Semi-Finals should a Professional or Assistant Professional leave his Club or the district in circumstances acceptable to the Tournament Committee he may be invited to play in the Final.
15 The Tournament shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and such local rules as may be approved by the Tournament Committee. Players MUST ensure they play with Conforming Balls and Driving Clubs.
16 The WINNING Club shall communicate the result of each round WITHIN 48 hours of being known to the Tournament Hon. Secretary.
17 75% of the entry fees shall be available for the Professional’s or Assistant Professional’s prizes as follows :- Winner 2/3rds.  ( two thirds )    :  Runner-up  1/3rd.  ( one third )
18 Entries together with fees must be in the possession of the Tournament Hon. Secretary in accordance with the directions on the entry form.
19 All disputes shall be settled by the Disputes Committee whose decision shall be Final The Disputes Committee shall consist of a Professional ( nominated by the L.& R.P.G.A. ) and two of the following :-  President, President Elect, Past Presidents, Vice Presidents, Captain, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Match Secretary and Tournament Hon. Secretary.
20 The requirements of the host Club regarding dress and general discipline will be strictly observed by players, caddies and supporters.
21 Each Club shall be responsible for the ordering and payment of any meals required for their players, caddies, officials and supporters. Caterers to invoice each club for meals taken by that club.
22 PENALTY for breach of these rules :-   DISQUALIFICATION.
