Steve Sansome (Birstall) wins the Leicestershire Fox

The Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Union holds an annual Midland Order of Merit event, called 'The Leicestershire Fox'. The traditional venue for the Leicestershire Fox is Willesley Park Golf Club near Ashby de la Zouch.

The 2016 Leicestershire Fox was held on Sunday 21st August and was won for the second time by Steve Sansome (Birstall). Steve shot 65-71 for a 4 under par total of 136, one clear of Lee Woodcock (The Leicestershire). Lee had a hole in one at the 16th in his morning round of 67.
