Health & Safety Policy Statement

 

The Officers of Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Union regards the promotion of Health and Safety measures as a mutual objective for all Officers, Officials and any Player selected for County activities. The Union also intends to actively seek the co-operation of all clubs affiliated to the Union, in order to achieve our objectives.

It is County Union policy to do all that is reasonable to prevent personal injury and damage to property; to protect all Players and Officials from foreseeable hazards; to protect the General Public insofar as they come into contact with the County Union, whilst pursuing activities associated with County golf.

In particular the Union has a responsibility to;

Endeavour to provide and maintain safe playing and practice conditions when organising an event at a host club, taking account of statutory requirements.

Provide instructions to Officers and Officials to ensure that Players conform to safety procedures.

Make available necessary safety equipment, communications and klaxon, to reduce the risk of accident to Players and Officials whilst participating or officiating at an event.

Maintain a constant and continuing interest in Health and Safety matters applicable to the Union's activities and to involve Officers, Officials, Players and Parents of Minors, whenever applicable.

Players, and Parents where applicable, have a duty to co-operate with the Union in the operation of this policy by;

Completing Parental Consent forms and Code of Conduct forms where applicable.

Playing and practising safely, whilst participating in Union activities.

Co-operating and complying immediately with instructions given or received from an Official using Safety Communication Equipment.

Reporting incidents that have led or may lead to injury or damage.

Adhering to official procedures for Health and Safety.

Assisting in the investigation of accidents with the object of introducing measures to prevent a recurrence.
