Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Union
The Captain of the Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Union is Stuart Marriott, from Birstall Golf Club.
Stuart was elected as County Captain at the 2011 AGM. Previously Stuart had spent 4 years as Second Team Captain and has played for the county more than 100 times across both representative teams.
Since 2001 Stuart has been a member of Birstall Golf Club having previously been at Breedon Priory and Lingdale. Stuart also organises the Under 35s League and Scratch Knockout and is the L&RGU website administrator. Along with President-Elect Graham Webb from Kirby Muxloe Golf Club, Stuart is a member of the English Golf Union Tournament Panel and has helped administer a number of national championships and finals.
Stuart has worked for De Montfort University since 2000, following completion of his degree in Economics at the University of Leicester. He commenced his most recent role, as Employer Development Manager, in May 2009 and is also a Director of EMIN and the Fosse Golf Company (Leicester) Limited.
