The L&RGU runs a three major competitions for junior boys each year. There is an Age Group Championship, played off handicap, for the Rae Spillane Cup and also a Boys Amateur Championship.

Players finishing in the top 16 of the Boys Amateur Championship qualify for a Matchplay Championship played in the two days after the Strokeplay has been completed.
